Junior Holiday Party Report
GMS Juniors rocked out the year with a spectacular holiday party! First, they elected Jennifer Folsom as the new Junior Section Chair!!!Then it was time to bring cheese sticks to life as cheesy little snow people.
What would a holiday party be without cookies? Jennifer Folsom baked special cookies just for juniors! She provided all of the cute edible eyeballs and other decorating goodies as well, so every cookie was as unique as the junior who decorated it.
Next, Diana Poppelreuter taught them how to make a sparkly ornament using quartz crystals collected at the November Juniors' field trip plus wire and glass beads. Diana invented the design herself and provided all of the crystals, beads, wire, and ribbon.
After all that hard work, juniors dove into a smorgasbord of yummy holiday snacks provided by Diana, Charles & Lori Carter, and Olga Jarrett. Kallie Brunson brought in a basket full of meyer lemons to share too!
Once they finished their crafts, they played a lively game of elf duck toss for all kinds of prizes -- pencils provided by Leslie Perry, quartz crystals from Arkansas provided by Kyle Boring, and a variety of pretty little rocks provided by GMS!
And if all of that wasn't enough, juniors were treated to even more rocks to take home on their way out. There were green and red rocks from the December field trip provided by Charles Carter, and quartz with tourmaline provided by Leslie Perry.
It was a super fun party that delighted both young and young at heart :o)
