Junior Section Fossil Workshops I & II
August & September 2016

In the first fossil workshop, juniors looked at many imprint fossils, casts, and molds. They discovered what fossils can tell us of life long ago. They made decorative fossil imprints in self-hardening clay that they got to keep. And, they also got to choose and take home a real fossil to start or add to their collection!

In the second workshop, juniors “dug” out little plastic dinosaur skeleton pieces from matrix and learned how paleontologists collect, assemble, and work with fossils. Plus, they got to take home a real piece of dino bone!
