Fall 2020 Adopt-a-Highway

Intrepid trash collecting volunteers
We typically have two Adopt-a-highway trips a year. Due to covid-19 the spring trip was cancelled. On October 31 he did have our fall trip.
I guess people were anxious to get out of the house and have some contact with fellow rockhounds. We had the highest turnout in my tenure as Adopt-a-highway lead, a total of 16 members attended. Some of us dressed up for the occasion, Halloween, with Shelley stealing the show.
With 16 people collecting trash, the chore was quickly done and we proceeded to downtown Ballground for lunch. We got food at a variety of restaurants and met in the park for lunch.
Afterwards 10 of us went to collect garnets. The weather couldn't have been better and the previous rains washed out lots of materials. Everybody got more than their fill.
Great times were had by all.
