GMS Adopt-a-Highway Field Trip
Various Minerals in Georgia
Saturday, October 25, 2014

The Spring field trip to this mine went so well we were invited back for a Fall field trip!

This time we brought big pry pars and really dug into the mining spoils. Sarah found a metallic mineral as yet unidentified. Thanks to Casey's finds from the Spring trip, we were able to identify some zoisite crystals. There was some nice pyrite and ankerite too. Linda Batcha and I even managed to collect some sand by a creek!

Many thanks to Casey and his friend for organizing this special collecting trip again!
