GMS at Fort Daniel Frontier Fair
Buford, GA
Saturday, October 20, 2018
GMS volunteers Diana Poppelreuter, Charles Carter, and Lori Carter took a few steps back in time and transformed into scrappy gold miners for the 10th annual Fort Daniel Frontier Faire. We even had a “fools” gold mining game for kids complete with a pyrite filled spittoon! You don’t see one of those every day. Diana impressed visitors with an array of rocks and fossils collected on various GMS field trips. Charles wanted to nap – or maybe he wanted to knap… Anyway, visitors were happy to donate a few dollars for a GMS grab bag or a GMS t-shirt, and of course, they loved the GMS stickers too! It was so much fun you should mark the date on your calendar and volunteer for this event next year – you will be so happy you did!
