Cretaceous Fossils in Alabama

The September field trip that was postponed because of high water became the October field trip that was stymied because of high water. Though water levels appeared to be okay a couple of days before the trip, when we arrived it was clear we would not be able to collect. However, Jeff Edwards, field trip chair for the Montgomery Gem and Mineral Society, offered an alternate location to us. He led the group to one of his club’s locations where we collected some fantastic fossils!

Many thanks to Charles for working so hard to make this trip happen despite water woes, and an especially big thank you to Jeff Edwards for salvaging the trip and making it most memorable!
