Rock Sale in Georgia
Saturday, March 4, 2017
This "sort of" field trip was supposed to be a bonus following a fossil collecting field trip at a quarry in Georgia, but the fossil trip was cancelled because the quarry had to fill an order that day, so the bonus trip became THE trip.
We visited Colis Antley and Lisa Roberts to peruse and purchase rocks. Their yard was full of cutting rough and they had tables of slabs set out for us too. We all came away with some superb pieces and even a fantastic bargain on some lapidary equipment.
Many thanks to field trip chair Charles Carter for arranging this trip and to Colis and Lisa for the great buys!
