23 collectors gathered at the Little Pine Mine for a day of collecting garnets. Attendance was considerably less than anticipated, the questionable weather, I suspect, being the major factor. Some attendees ventured into the mine adit and chiseled garnets from the walls, while others collected on the dumps and in a small stream which runs thru the collecting area. Many garnets were recovered, some loose and some in matrix. FGMC’s Alex McGilvary was intensely collecting on the stream bank while Al Gaskill worked in the stream itself. See attached photos. All were pleased with their finds.
