 The road to the old mine is littered with pieces of soapstone. Talc
deposits are present in Precambrian metamorphic rocks in the Allamoore
area. Talc is used as a filler in the
manufacture of roofing materials, paper, plastic, and synthetic
rubber and in ceramic materials.
