TUCSON GEM & MINERAL SHOWS
Jewelry and Organic Gem Show (JOGS)
                                            [2005]

Tucson's Largest Amber Exhibits
[2007] This is the fourth year for this show. I have seen this venue go from an Amber and not so good gift show to a near first quality show offering a real variety of products for sale.  The Amber dealers are still a big draw here but the quality and quantity of the other dealers have steadly improved to the point where this one demands a "look see" !

Best deal:  Free luncheon banquet every day from 1pm-2pm.

Notice the black material on this giant feldspar.
Also notice my quarter on the lower section of the crystal.

A close up view the black material reveals that they are tiny tourmaline crystals.

            [2005]

A goodly number of flea market type vendors and some lower quality jewelry dealers were here in 2005.   In 2006 the quality of the dealers and the types of dealers were greatly improved.  The Polish amber sellers are well worth the effort to find this show.
   [2005]

In 2005 there were 26 outstanding amber dealers from the Baltic sea area of eastern Europe but only half that many showed up for the 2006 show.  In 2007, they were all back in force with another 26 wholesale amber vendors including amber miners, exporters, retailers, and designers of amber jewelery.

There was even an American woman selling her book on amber at one of the booths.
