We're talking about the best quality minerals and fossils from the world over can be found at this one show! PRICED ACCORDINGLY. . . but deals can be found! Arizona Mineral & Fossil Show, Tucson, AZ Arizona Mineral & Fossil Show 2007 Dealer List
These are the true, big time, mineral and fossil shows here in Tucson. If your looking for museum quality display specimens, the shows are the ones to visit. If your looking for the biggest ban for your buck, these are not necessarily the best places to look. As a general rule: If you see it in an expensive motel room at an expensive hotel show, the prices are inflated to cover the extra overhead. If you see the same quality of specimen at a warehouse or tent show, you will get a lot more for less money. That said, if your willing to buy in LARGE quantities, you may be able to get an excellent buy even at a hotel show. And finally, if you wait till the last day of a particular show, you can get great deals because most dealers DO NOT want to have to carry a lot of heavy specimens back home. The problem with waiting till the very last day is that you will not have the best selection of material or may have missed out completely on the specimens that you waited to buy. So, it all boils down to knowing where to go to get the best deals and skipping everything else till you have most of your shopping done! (I wish I could follow my own advice!) [2007] No surprises here from last year's show. About the same dealers with about the same material. Some of the India dealers seemed to have fewer larger specimens and fewer items in general. Prices seemed to be higher this year over last. .

A number of the tent dealers here also have expensive hotel room shows.
The same minerals seen in their motel room are often a lot cheaper at their
tent show room.
[2006] More Fluorites from the Rogerly mine in England have been farmed out again this year to a number of dealers around town. I was able to pick up several "B" quality specimens at next to nothing at this tent show last year. The "A" to "B" quality from the actual miner at the InnSuites cost at least ten times what I paid for about the same quality. Remember, the tent show is your friend especially if a mine is trying to optimize the return on their production of specimens. [2007] Picked up another, better quality, Rogerly fluorite this year. It is always nice to be able to upgrade your collection and not have to pay up to do it! |
