When the Lordsburg, New Mexico chamber of commerce withdrew it's support of the "Rockamania" rockhounding event which they organized and ran during the month of February, a deciated group of mineral and rock collectors decided to continue to meet back in Lordsburg to carry on the tradition of "Rockamania".  A new club was formed; the Roving Rockhounds, to conduct two weeks of field trips in southern New Mexico and eastern Arizona during the weeks following the Tucson Gem and Mineral shows.  The club also conducts additional weeks of field trips in other parts of the country led by one of it's members to collecting locations in and around their home localities.
